Douglas Township - Relaunch! - After the
American Revolutionary war, many discharged and disbanded soldiers moved
with their families to settle land in Nova Scotia, forming Douglas
Township, now known as the County of East Hants. Today the sleepy
riverside village of Kennetcook hosts an annual weekend festival,
featuring an historic Encampment of 18th Century military re-enactors,
many events, great food, fun for the whole family & more. The site
offers a history & photos of the Regiment, plus a Community Events
listings for East Hants.

Fundy Tidal
Interpretive Centre - Along the ragged coast of Nova
Scotia's famous Bay of Fundy you'll find the community of South
Maitland, once a bustling centre of shipbuilding in the days of sail.
Today you can visit the Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre to learn about
the highest tides in the world and the unique Tidal Bore. Enjoy the
displays in the Centre, a gift shop, a Ducks Unlimited Pond and Nature
Trail. Stroll out to the Tidal Observation Deck above the red expanse of
the Shubenacadie River. Site included current Tide Time Tables and an
extensive directory with links to many local attractions and businesses.

Tin
Smith Shop Museum - On the narrow main street of rural Nova Scotian
village of Shubenacadie, you'll find a little bit of yesterday tucked among modern inhabitants -
The Watson Smith & Sons Tin Smith Shop Museum. Operating in the early 1890's as a milk can
fabrication facility and hardware store, the property was left to the townsfolk
by Harry Smith. It was opened as a museum in 2000, and today features
additional exhibits of interest plus a beautiful little craft & gift
shop. This site invited you to "step back in time" and
featured many hidden pictures to view.
